Support Frontline Workers

Caregiving is highly challenging work in the best of times – even more so during stressful times like the COVID-19 crisis. Those of us who are not health workers have a very important role to play during this time. Although we can’t be on the frontlines offering our support, we can offer thanks and encouraging words to the physicians, nurses and care team members who are dealing directly with patients. It’s important to recognize the tremendous sacrifices that caregivers make every day to support their patients.

Here are other ways you can help right now:

  • Donate food and supplies

    • UCLA is in need of snack items for their staff.  If you are interested in donating, please click here for a list of items and information on how to donate.

    • Support local independent restaurants and consider purchasing delivery items from them to donate to hungry healthcare workers. Here is a list of participating organizations, or contact your favorite local restaurant or bakery to find out if they have donation options.

  • Letters of Encouragement

    • If you’re unsure how best to support the health workers in your life, a simple thank you may go a long way. Write a handwritten letter today to support the caretakers who are working tirelessly right now. Reach out to hospitals and facilities to see if they’re accepting letters at this time.

    • You could also create a group thank you card via groupgreeting.com. This service allows you to create a digital card and have multiple people sign it
