Mind-Body Connection: The Science & Practice of Heart Touch
"The notion that the mind and body are actually different sides of the same coin goes
all the way back to the origins of medicine."
–Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., founder of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society
The mind-body connection is at the core of Heart Touch. By understanding what happens on a physiological level (body) as a result of our thoughts (mind) you will be able to bring greater awareness and wellbeing to everything you do.
In this course you will dive deep into the science behind The Heart Touch Method, learning how the body’s functions—like the nervous system, mirror neuron activity, and respiration—affect our emotions and interactions.
Through stress-reduction activities, guided visualizations, communication skills exercises, and hands-on touch techniques, you will practice integrating mind and body to better serve patients nearing the end of life or facing a serious illness.
Completion of The Heart Touch Method is recommended prior to taking this course.
CEUs are available to massage therapists, RNs, CNAs, HHAs, and chaplains.
Upon completion of this training program, you will receive a certificate of completion from The Heart Touch Project.
