25th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign!

For our 25th year, we have set ourselves an ambitious goal: 2500 donations of $25 each!

Since 1995, The Heart Touch Project has been an educational tour de force for people facing end-of-life issues. In the past 25 years, the organization has helped ease the transition of thousands of people at the end of their lives and offer emotional support for their families.

Through gentle touch and mindful presence, volunteers from The Heart Touch Project have offered respite and sanctuary, one hour at a time, to people who are facing their deaths. Recent program expansions have trained medical professionals and massage therapists to use mindful touch to reduce anxiety and pain during medical treatment or prolonged illness.

 

We find ourselves at a crossroads in this country. Opioid use is an epidemic. People hesitate to touch each other out of fear of misinterpreted intentions. Technology connects us intellectually but experts qualify many of us as “touch starved”. 

 

Here at The Heart Touch Project, we strive to educate volunteers and professionals alike on how to provide safe, therapeutic touch so that patients can benefit. Your tax-deductible contribution can support our mission and help patients feel better, one session at a time.

 

Each donation of $25 provides us the opportunity to offer training to volunteers, advanced training to massage therapists to work with people facing serious illness, free community massage clinics, our reasonably-priced intern clinic available seven days a week, and international outreach to provide gentle, therapeutic touch to those who may not receive it often enough.

 

The Impact of Your Donation

• For $25, we can offer a community clinic massage to someone who is receiving treatment for cancer.

• For a recurring monthly donation of $25, we can train a volunteer to provide up to 52 hours per year of gentle touch to a patient on hospice care.

• Increase that recurring donation to $50 per month (which will count as two contributions to our 2500 goal!), and we can help over 100 children in the NICU and PICU receive the calming effects of a volunteer’s gentle touch and mindful presence.
