Essentials of Pain & Palliative Care Massage

Online Training

The Essentials of Pain & Palliative Care Massage online training provides a foundation for understanding pain science and the functions of palliative care. This course prepares massage therapists to offer services to individuals with acute or persistent pain and work within a palliative care team.

As more people seek nonpharmaceutical ways to manage pain, massage therapists see more clients who want to know how they can hurt less.

Massage therapy and pain science have many commonalities. Both work directly with the nervous system. Both highlight the importance of the mind-body connection. And both can support the rapidly-growing field of palliative care.

This online course provides a foundation for understanding pain science and palliative care treatment. Through live and recorded lectures grounded in science and research, interactive exercises, assignments, and live discussion, you will understand the role of a massage therapist within a palliative care team and acquire skills to offer services to people with acute or persistent pain.

You will have 90 days to access this course from the date of purchase. No refunds are given for self-paced courses.

Participants must have paid the tuition fee, reviewed all pre-recorded materials, attended the entire live lecture (4 hours), and completed the exam and evaluation to receive a certificate of completion. Partial credit is not available.
