Covid-19 Advanced Practitioner Training
The COVID-19 pandemic, which is not yet over, has drastically changed our reality. Frontline healthcare workers are currently experiencing extremely high rates of compassion fatigue, demoralization, PTSD, and moral distress. Heart Touch believes that providing care and helping to reduce the effects and magnitude of these issues is essential. Massage is a proven treatment for pain relief, and it is one of the top-rated methods of battling stress. Additionally, massage therapists can be instrumental in helping clients recover from traumatic events, both physical and emotional, and provide support for the patient's overall wellness*
In response to this need, Heart Touch has developed a COVID-19 Advanced Practitioner Training which prepares massage therapists to provide safe and effective touch therapy to frontline caregivers to address compassion fatigue, burnout, PTSD, and the emotional and physical stressors resulting from working in this emergency response environment.
Students will participate in a two-hour online training and a two-hour community clinic where they will practice COVID-19 Advanced Practitioner Techniques at a hands-on clinic with frontline healthcare providers.
Training Benefits
Massage therapists will learn to provide safe and effective care to frontline healthcare workers and providers working with COVID patients.
