Advanced Heart Touch Training in End-of-Life Care

Course Description

The Advanced Heart Touch Training in End-of-Life Care is designed to deepen and enhance the quality of interaction between therapists and their patients. The training gives practitioners new tools and techniques to use with their patients, and as well as hands-on interactive practicums and instruction in providing enhanced quality of care for those nearing the end of life. The course also addresses a patient’s physical, emotional and spiritual pain and explores ways of being a healing and mindful presence at this sacred time in a person’s life.

This course is for physicians, nurses, massage therapists, chaplains, caregivers and other healthcare practitioners who work with patients approaching end of life.

Course Requirements

  • The Heart Touch Training in Compassionate Touch
  • Current or recent work with a hospice or hospital client or current employment at a healthcare facility

  • Breathing and Entrainment Techniques
  • Working with Unconscious Patients
  • Guided Meditations for End-of-Life Care
  • Disease Specific Massage Therapy Practices
  • Symptom Management and Massage Therapy
  • Infection Control

  • Eight continuing education hours from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) or from the California Board of Registered Nursing. Members of the Association of Professional Chaplains (ACP) may also earn eight continuing education hours.

Tuition is $150.00, due with application.
