The curriculum covers all the basic physical requirements such as universal precautions, hygiene, equipment, technique and appointment protocol. It also trains practitioners to 1) understand the necessity of creating an atmosphere with the client while, 2) defining boundaries and establishing the limits of the relationship and 3) processing their own feelings resulting from the impact of this work.
Providing Compassionate and Healing Touch to those in need and developing relationships with those near death is an emotionally powerful experience. Preparation for both the technical and psychological demands of this work is essential to the success of our volunteers.
